What are Villa Beer’s opening hours?
Our museum is open Tuesday through Sunday for public and private tours, as well as for self-guided visits (with a time-slot ticket). Villa Beer is closed on Mondays. 

When can I reach Villa Beer by phone?
We can be reached by phone Wednesday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We recommend contacting us via email (welcome@villabeer.wien).

How much is admission?
Admission prices vary depending on the offer. Discounted tickets are available for students, seniors, people with disabilities, and members of the Austrian Museum Association. Admission is free for holders of the “Hunger for Art and Culture” Pass and for companions of people with disabilities. Villa Beer does not offer discounts to ICOM members, tour guides, or holders of a press pass.

Are there guided tours at the museum?
Yes, we offer public guided tours daily from Wednesday through Sunday. In addition, private group tours can be booked in advance.  

How do I book a private tour?
Through our form. We’ll get back to you within four business days with a suggested itinerary.

Can I pay for my private tour on-site?
No, once you have received an invoice from us, we ask that you pay it before your tour. 

Do I have to buy tickets in advance?
Yes, please. You cannot visit Villa Beer without booking a ticket online. 

Can I come without a ticket in case someone cancels a tour?
It’s possible that someone might be unable to attend a tour at the last minute. In that case, we’re happy to allow interested visitors to purchase a ticket on the spot—however, we don’t recommend it; please check our website for available dates.

Is there a waiting list?
No, canceled tickets become available again immediately in our online ticket shop. Is it possible to make a (pre)reservation by phone? No. We ask that you book tickets online.

I’m very impressed by the fabrics at Villa Beer. Which company and designer are they by?
The fabrics are from the Swedish company Svenskt Tenn and were designed by Josef Frank, the architect of Villa Beer. What books can I read to deepen my understanding of Villa Beer? Please feel free to visit our shop; our selection of books is tailored to Villa Beer and its architects. We highly recommend Josef Frank’s essay “The House as a Path and a Place”! 

Are there gift vouchers I can give as a present?
In the future, it will be possible to purchase gift certificates online. We’ll be happy to let you know in our newsletter when that’s available.

Can I visit the garden?
Visiting our garden is only possible with a valid ticket.

Can I visit the music room during a visit without guided tour? 
Unfortunately, no. For safety reasons, the music room can only be visited as part of a guided tour.

Is the museum accessible to people with disabilities?
The visitor area in the basement and three rooms on the ground floor are accessible to people with disabilities.

Can I take photos in the museum?
Photography without a flash is permitted.

Is there a café or restaurant in the museum?
No, but you’re welcome to purchase snacks and drinks in our gift shop.

Can I bring bags or backpacks?
Large bags and backpacks must be left at the free coat check or in the free lockers.

Are there programs for children and families?
Starting in fall 2026, we will offer programs and workshops for schoolchildren. Due to safety regulations at the villa, children may only visit as part of a guided tour accompanied by a supervising adult.

How do I get to the museum?
he museum is easily accessible by public transportation. You can find directions on our website. Is there a museum shop? Yes, you’ll find our shop in the entrance area, featuring books and design objects.

Can I rent the museum for events?
Yes, select spaces can be rented for events. Please contact us for more information at events@villabeer.wien.

Can I stay overnight at Villa Beer?
Yes, there are three guest rooms in the attic. Please contact us for more information at welcome@villabeer.wien.

Can I bring my dog or another pet into the Villa Beer? 
No, unfortunately, pets are not permitted. Assistance dogs are an exception.
